I know nothing! I need help!

So Im facing a familiar scene: ANOTHER MOVE! After pricing out a moving truck I got this lovely idea to buy a bus. I plan to use it to move then convert (or convert and still use to move) into a nice little Rv type set up. Were moving over 6,000 miles. I want to be able to use this beauty to go on vacations and stuff. SO heres the biggie: Where do i start? I live in Wisconsin/ Michigan (residence in both places). we plan on moving down towards Texas. I have been checking out buses locally and have a friend who will take out the seats for me. I have a BIL that is kinda helpful with cars and stuff. So tell me where do I start? What do I need to do? What size is good to use/

Buy the bus in TX, not MI. TX doesn't have the rust epidemic that MI has.

Do elaborate on this 6,000+ mile move. Because you could drive from the the farthest point on the upper peninsula, to the farthest point in Texas, back to the upper peninsula, and then back to the farthest point in Texas again, and still not be at 6,000 miles.

As far as buying a bus to move from Michiconsin to Texas and doing an RV, conversion... I'm with EastCoast. Don't put the time into doing a conversion on a rust bucket from up there. Maybe buy a cheap bus up there, use it for the move, and then scrap it or see if you can find somebody that wants to buy it cheap for the drivetrain. Just try to get as much of your money back out of it as you can. Then find a nice Texas/New Mexico/Arizona bus to buy after you're down there to use for your conversion. You'll have a much, much better, more solid, longer lasting platform to use for your RV build.

People often complain about driving across Texas, but hey...it's only a little over 800 miles from the LA border to El Paso, so chill. A guy walked the perimeter a few years back (no idea why)...but that was over three-thousand miles and didn't include all the barrier islands.

Get an old DUKW (pronounced "duck w", for anyone not familiar with them) and graft a bus body onto it!

You'd need a fuel tanker to run alongside you to get you across the Atlantic though. Haha
