I suppose you could just pull the splines and drop the shaft to pull the engine, but even that sounds like a lot of work. Does that engine look a bit small for a bus of that vintage? I wonder if that's just a generator of some sort.

I was picturing how that would work last night - there would have to be a lockup on the transmission so it didn't turn when the motor was pulled forward, otherwise the splines wouldn't match when the motor was pushed back
