Re: injector rebuild

While I know nothing about injector rebuilding, a little more information might help someone that does, what type of engine do you have?

Re: injector rebuild

Generally, one unit exchanges injectors, usually not to expensive. Rebuilding requires a clean area, proper tools, and tech. info. Shouldn't be too hard to do--though easier to exchange.

Re: injector rebuild

I work for a heavy truck dealer, and to the best of my knowledge the parts for rebuilding injectors are not readily available. This is an area where the manufacturer holds the keys and likes to keep it that way, as they make huge $$ off of selling replacement injectors. That being said, you might be able to find parts somewhere, but I don't have a clue where you would go for them. We don't rebuild them, and we are dealer for Cat, Cummins & Detroit, all we do is replace them, and beware they generally have a very high core charge, so make sure you have the dirty core with you when you go to buy one.
