Interesting Idea: Rhino Liner

So I have always liked the idea of Rhino lining a vehicle of mine, especially since it is cheaper than painting the vehicle. I think it would pretty bad ass if I did it to my entire bus. What do y'all think? It would add a pretty cool layer of protection and also might even insulate it a little bit.

I agree suoer bad ass to Rhino line a bus. Saw a Truck done and it was very tough looking. The way a machine that spends its life outdoors should look!

Adding a lot more weight to an already heavy vehicle

Yeah, I thought about that too, but the bus isn't designed to be a race car.

Tru dat

It's taken me a few trips to figure out this thing isn't going to tip over at 5° lean!

I remember going from a Camaro to a k5 blazer... It felt like I was top heavy and was going to flip over on the curvy highway.

I'm still learning my boundaries. It feels sketchy at first. Definitely a positive pucker factor.

Chevy Suburban driver for 30 years, so it's a short learning curve.

Lol yupp, I went from a mustang to a ford explorer so I know how you felt. Now I am just trying to figure our how many buckets I need to buy to cover it lol I had the idea to do that and then paint a jolly roger onto the hood. That pretty much sold me on the idea.

Yeah, you can get a bucket of that stuff for about $150 if you get a spray gun and apply it its cheaper than paying for it to get painted.

UPOL Raptor has a liner product that can be tinted with automotive tints. And if sprayed (after thinning) using a HVLP spray gun, multiple thinner coats can be applied to give a smoother texture. I've seen many videos on YouTube showing this.

I have considered applying this to the bottom 12"-18" all the way around my (future) bus and then painting the rest with auto paint.

Also you might want to look at MotoCoat. Wagner makes it. I watched a YouTube video by Ammo NYC where primer and under body coating were sprayed. Looked good.

I prepped and sprayed upol raptor tintable over the entire length of the roof (40')

It took about 4 gallons (that's 4 kits)

I am very happy with the results. I didn't bother tinting it, so it was translucent. After it gassed off for about 2 weeks I then applied Henrys solarflex to the roof. The upol offers an aggressive texture for the solar reflective elastomeric paint.

I am able to pressure wash the roof and it has enough texture to not slip off and die. It has held up very well for two years now.
