International chasis, 444 only?

Ok so I have been looking at the buses with the international chasis because I prefer the rounded look at the front. But, I have only been able to find ones that have the 444 motor in them, nothing bigger. Is this the only thing that comes with these.

Getting closer to parting with some cash soon

Jackie

Nope--just gotta keep looking! A couple people here have DT360's, at least one has a DT408, some have DT466's. The T444E is the most common on the long-nose buses, but the 466's are out there!

Re: International chasis, 444 only?

Jackie,

The T444 is very similar to the 7.3L Ford Powerstroke motors out there. If it has an "E" that means it has electronic fuel injection...making WVO a real pain. I can't recall if that was ever part of your plan. Many of our International buses in the district have there with few problems. The DT466 is slightly larger and is generally a more sought after motor. 7.6L if I recall correctly. I also think it is wet-sleeved so it can be rebuilt in-frame, if needed. I think that the DT360 and DTA360 are smaller versions of the DT466...same family that is. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Keep looking in that direction and you'll end up finding something that you want!

Ben.
