Is this feasable?

Been looking at generators, instead of getting a 3000 honda, getting 2 2000s. Cheaper I believe, and I can hook up one soley for a/c-heater and the other for rest of bus and charging batteries. I thought I ran my 24' camper a/c and all with a eu20001 before, but not sure. Any experiences with any of this?

Re: Is this feasable?

I thought about doing that myself but from what I read on mutiple forums seems the 2000w generators usally have problems starting most 13.5k + AC units. It appears some people have had luck installing a Hard Start Capacitor. If your plan is to have both running for AC and just one when you don't need AC will proubly work great.

Re: Is this feasable?

2K generator will not start up a 13.5Kbtu RV ac unit. My Onan genset is 2.5K and will barely do it. I believe the surge for an AC is 2.3KW just to get the compressor going. If you want to run a 13.5Kbtu AC unit (that is the small AC unit) get a 3K generator. Otherwise you just risk burning up a generator and an AC unit.

Someone over on Escapees just listed a Honda 200I for sales ($750) in AZ.
