Jacuzzi bus... remote keyless entry doors?

Hey, Jacuzzi bus dude! (Scott??? sorry, I'm downright awful at names)

I was adding some images to my gallery and happened to click on the random image of your windows opening. The caption says the "jacuzzi doors open by remote keyless entry, but it looks like those are the windows.

I love that idea for the windows! They would make instant awnings that would allow you to open the windows and block out excessive sun and the rain.

How did you install the lift motors? What system did you use (motors, pistons, remote key, etc)?
Were you happy with the end results? Did they work as expected?

Re: Jacuzzi bus... remote keyless entry doors?

I'm typing on a phone so well see how it goes. I used hydraulic cylinders to open those "windows" using air pressure from the air brake system and 12volt solenoid valves I had laying around. Power up gravity down. Used a remote keyless setup from autozone.com. Eventually I upgraded to more weather resitant sealed doors that had latches to hold closed and used gas shocks to open like the ones that hold open minivan rear doors

Ah! Gas shocks would be what I'd have to use because I have hydraulic brakes.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of using this type of system for shutters/awnings to cover existing windows, so leaks wouldn't be an issue. But I thought it would be great to gain instant shade and rain protection once parked. Making them self-opening would just be icing on the cake so to speak.
