Jim's Wildcat Lodge holding tanks
I'm a newbie here and in looking thru the gallery, second last page, the bus "Wildcat Lodge caught my eye. Very well done, and I especially liked the rare photos of the construction and installation of the holding tanks. I have a few questions for the owner, Jim, though for some reason I can't send him a PM. Maybe that function is down now so I'll post it here. Jim, hope you spot it or a buddy let's you know I gave you a shout.
The tanks look like they were fabricated out of sheet metal but then covered with some rubber for protection. Can you fill me in on what type of metal and gauge you used? I assume all seams are welded. The design was clever, with a built in shoulder so they could be suspended from rails near the top, as opposed to resting on trapeze hangers, which is how I always thought of installing them. I was wondering how you attached the rails to the under side of the bus. Looks like a tight fit between the body and frame, so tough to install but great use of space when done.
