Ladder to Roof Rack

On my genesis am tran I have these handles it looks like for standing on the bumper in front of the windshield. I assume its for kid that doesn't listen and they strap them spread eagle to the front of the bus to make an impression on the other little monsters. Or it helps you hang on while washing the windows? Why any one would wash the windows with the bus moving is beyond me.

What I was thinking of is running a ladder off my roof rack and right down in front of the center of the window or the top of the wipers park position to the bumper. I can build it so its not blocking anything more than the wipers do. I cant put it on back and seems like a hazard waiting for me to clip on the side.

the roof rack is only going to be 5 ft wide so a side ladder is not such a good fit any how.

I'm building it from electrical conduit and it comes in 10ft sticks. I may put 1x4's on it when its done and some rails that stick in stake pockets

Has any one else done this windshield idea
