Looking at a potential bus- is this too much rust?

Hi folks, this is my first post here. We are looking at this bus for a conversion. How much rust is too much? Do these pictures make you wince, or should we go for it?

Lots of threads on here about the engine - I have one in my 1999 Blue Bird. It's no power house, but as long as you recognize its limitations when you're operating it you should be OK. I would probably keep looking if you plan extensive mountain driving though.
The rust doesn't look too bad from what I can see - it looks like air ride suspension - that will give a much smoother ride than springs, although it will require slightly more maintenance.

Thanks for your thoughts. I am surprised by your answers, but pleased, because other than the rust, we like the bus. Now to make some decisions.

2000 would have the dreaded "59" block.

The only Cummins block "to fear" is stamped "53"...not 59. The 53 was cast in Brazil and did indeed have a host of well documented cracking issues as noted in the following statement from Cummins...

"Between 1999 and 2001, the Cummins 24v engine blocks with casting # 53 were manufactured by the Brazilian company, TUPY. The # 53 block casting has inherently thin water jacket walls that are susceptible to cracking."

Odd, I can edit my posts.

Edit: also, the 53 block prolbems tend to happen before the 100k mile mark. If you find one with 150k it's probably kosher.

After a short period the edit option goes away. Go to any of your previous posts and see if you still can?
