Maiden Voyage....sorta...

Greetings,
Spent Friday removing the 18' awning from the 5th wheel and installing on the bus. Went pretty smooth and was uneventfull.
Continued with little details and finishing touches.
Saturday after we closed the Paintball Field for the day, the wife, youngest son and I climbed aboard for a short cruise.
The old girl was more than ready and fired up on the first try. Let it warm up and build pressure on the air brakes.
I also fired up the Delorme GPS on the laptop and let it locate and track the trek.....
Left out and went over to the local gas station for a fillup.
Nice surprise when there was about 40 gallons already in there!
After the fillup, I primed the genset and cranked it up.
Turned on the AC and the son fired up the TV/DVD and watched a movie while we cruised about 20 miles to a nearby town - first few miles were "lumpy" until the bias ply tires warmed up, then smoothed out nicely.
Stopped there for a few minutes and did a walk around check to see if anything fell off - luckily, nothing did!
We climbed back in and drove back to the house with the GPS logging the trip.
Arrived home a short time later and parked back in place and plugged back in.

All in all, about as uneventfull a first systems test and shakeout trip as you could ever want.
This next weekend, we plan a short camping trip and spend Thursday and Friday night aboard - while camped on the back 40 at home.
If anything happens, I can go get the diesel tractor and pull the bus home!!

Just had to share!
