Maximize under the bus space for watertank.

I would like to use all the space I can get under the bus for fresh watertank. The lowest part of the bus is the rear axle, 8" from the ground. Can I built a cage 1" below this? It will then give me a 7" ground clearance. Thanks for the help.

I did I put the fresh water on top 44 gallons
The black water on bottom. 62 gallons.
Ac unit is on the right.

I think those 2 tanks are to be separated by several feet for hygiene reasons.

Like Mexico, don't drink the water...

you can build as low as you think is safe... that being said, remember that there are speed bumps and crowned rail road crossings, not to mention all the baby ducks crossing the road...
actually the three busses I have built compartments under, I left myself enough room to crawl under them (ie front axle height).. never had any problems but have always checked crossings...

They are supposed to be separated by a barrier.
Not gonna drink it or use it it is there just for legal reasons.
Otherwise I would build a barrier for it. It was just to show one way to do it.
If it does get used the lower would be grey water. Since there is a composting toilet inside. And just a shower /sink. And you never seen how Rv are built lol
I have lol inside a Thor motor coach factory. On the smaller units the tanks at axle area to watch tongue weight. That's also why the fresh water is on top and sealed.

I have separated my fresh tanks from my gray and poo tanks by about 9 feet - I do not want any chance of cross-contamination between them. It always amazes me when I see RVs with their fresh water fill near the waste tanks' dump outlets. What are they thinking? Keep them separate.
