Moving out west...how do i do this.

So we just won a bus off of ebay from a local school district. 1996 Ford with cummins 5.9 L. We are planning on using it as our moving van and to tow our volvo wagon behind it.
I dont really no where to start with all my questions. For starters, what kind of a towing set up will I need (and can afford) to tow this car?
I have some time, planning on moving the end of may from the gulf coast all the way to Montana.

Re: Moving out west...how do i do this.

I bought my tow bar and brackets, used, from http://www.hitchtrader.com/SearchAds...&submit=Search I bought a tow bar that can be hooked up by one person (Roadmaster StowMaster 5000). This is great. All we do is pull the Jeep up close to the rear bumper of the bus (or what ever we are towing the Jeep with... like my daughter's jeep) and stretch the arms of the tow bar to the hitch ball and hook it up. We built a long 4 wire plug harness from the bus (or what ever) string it over the Jeep, down to my Hitchhaul which has a set of trailer lights attached to it and connect the long wire harness to the 4 wire plug that came with the light kit. The Hitchhaul is removable and we can move it to another vehicle if needed or if we change vehicles.

Here is a picture of my set up. I did just what you are doing I had a skoolie and I just bought the pieces and had a few brackets made by a local machine shop got grade 8 large bolts drilled the holes and pulled our car on a dolly from MN to Portland OR. Just wired the lights up this you can have done at almost any hitch shop or mechanics and go!

Good luck!
