My new bus 84 Eagle model 10
I bought this bus at an online government surplus auction a few months ago. It's in Little Rock, AR having some work done to it so I can fly out and get it to drive back home to Norfolk, Va. This is my third bus......First one was a piece of junk 84 International I bought locally, not worth fixing up. The second was a sweet 77 Gillig I bought that was in Modesto, CA. I drove that one across country back to VA. My wife was so pissed by the time I got back that I sold it. She doesn't know about the Eagle yet I'm going to try my best to hold on to this one I got it for $1,003. It has 53,000 miles on it. It runs well the mechanic says. He did some brake work to it, is going to change the oil and all the belts, maybe more if it needs it, not sure where the bill for that is going.
BTW I like this site because of the out of the box innovation I see. Every Eagle conversion I have seen online so far basically looks like or wants to look like a factory motorhome. That is not at all what I have in mind for this bus!

Hey, looks pretty nice! Are you talking about the dent that has the two lines in it below the windows? If so, those aren't dents those are just little dings.
Certainly can't argue with the price!
I used to own an Eagle. They told me if I could get it to move they would give it to me. I got it to move so the bus was mine. The problem? Brake pedal was stuck slightly depressed. I just reached down and pulled on it and viola! No more stuck brakes.
The bigger problem was rust. The engine rails were almost rusted through and the rear suspension shackles were in about the same terrible condition. I ended up selling it to a retired welder.
Yours doesn't look to have any rust issues. That's good. Do you know if there's any turns left in the torsion bars? Once the limit is reached you'll have to add air bags so I've been told.
Looks like it's been sitting a while. Hopefully no algae in the fuel.

I'm hoping there isn't a lot of rust, it only has 53,000 miles on it but it's still 31 years old so you never know. I really can't do or see much until I get it back here to VA. The mechanic is doing enough to get it ready for the trip but he is being set back by this horrific weather. The bus won't fit in his shop so he has to work on it outside. Also hoping the torsion bars aren't worn out but again, with the low mileage it seems likely that they are in good shape.

Eagles aren't German. They were made in Brussels, Belgium and Brownsville, TX. Our Eagle was made in Brussels. Couldn't get past the rust. I sure do miss the basement in that thing. The Blue Bird has a little Eagle in it... We salvaged the wiring harness out of the Eagle before we scrapped it. Used it for running the DC and AC the wiring in the Blue Bird. David had pulled the alternator (it had a DC side and an AC side) but it was forgotten in NC. David later said he didn't know where he could squeeze the monster into the Blue Bird so I guess it was okay to have forgotten it. But if it's still in the shed at my mom's, I'm gonna grab the thing. Just in case.

Neither German nor French. Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot was always upset to be called "French" although, like many Belgiums, he spoke French. Dutch (not German) being the other language of the country. To call anything Belgium "German" could be perceived as an insult. Wikipedia says that Eagles were built in Germany early on.
I also can tell you that 55% of people in Belgium prefer to be called Flemish.
I didnt cross the border but did travel the southern parts of the Netherlands.
