Nobody is sure what year it is? Does it have a title? Can you register it?

Re: NEED Advice: Should I buy this bus??

I think that if money is no object, then go for it if you like it- it's a cool old bus, but if money isn't in abundant supply, then you might wanna consider a bus that you can source the parts for easier. A bus that has been sitting for 5 years is definitely going to need some attention.

I like the looks of that bus. The front end looks so much more 'modern' than it really is.

that bus looks like a well thought out coach conversion.Awning, gen, roof racks and ladders, etc. It was a nice bus for sure.Get a mechanic to look at it if you are interested. You can tell it was taken care of for sure.Maybe ask some qs at the coach site.I like it.

Beautiful bus! Coaches like this were meant to go forever, as long as they are maintained. You really want to have a good look at the frame, especially around the rear and front wheels. Look at the supports that hold up the body. If they are in bad shape, it's probably done, spare parts for another bus. If they are solid, that's one point on it's side.
Someone else will know about the engine, I am a dolt when it comes to engines.

Re: NEED Advice: Should I buy this bus??

That's a great engine, the majority of transits of that vintage have the 6V71. Those engines can go for half a million miles between rebuilds if you take care of them. A small amount of oil leaking is normal for those.

As for speed, it depends how it was geared. I've driven transits that topped out in the low 50s, and others that made it up to 95 (for real, no exaggeration).

Skoolies...seen one that topped out under 50, seen a couple that would top 80.
