New Mirrors or old Mirrors?

Ok so just curious what you guys have done with your mirrors? The bus came with heated ones that look... well they are not the most aesthetically pleasing things in the world. I think if I really wanted my way I would buy the ones that hang from an upper arm like on newer coaches, but are those heated? Or could I buy some from a semi wrecker or something? Do I really need heated mirrors? The originals are starting to rust and I would hate to mount the old ones only to watch them rust off. Ideas? Also totally off topic, if I weld stainless steel I know I need the stainless wire but do I need different gas too? I am using the bluesheild, I think its called, will this work with stainless steel?

(I will save you from a picture of what my old mirrors looked like because I am sure you have all seen school bus mirrors only a few million times)

I use a mix of about 74% co2 to help chill the weld puddle and keep the surrounding sheetmetal from warping, 24% argonto allow for weld penetration and 2% helium, it helps with the stainless metalurgy, the cost is about the same as co2/argon and really helps the stainless with no effect on regular steel. just make sure that you use stainless wire that is compatable with your stainless.

pure agon or helium will also work but they are considerably more expensive.
