Newbie Question.

Has anyone ever converted a ford E350-E650 shuttle bus into an RV? I have heard that the shuttles fall apart and are not reliable for full-timing. Is this accurate? Also, would anyone happen to know what the towing capacity is for a large Ford E550 Shuttle bus? We want to pull a 10K pound trailer. Your input is greatly appreciated.

I can't give any info as far as towing capacity but I do know there's many, many shuttle bus conversions out there. Including on this forum. Assuming the body is in good condition and not sun cracked, torn, etc. I imagine it could last a long time. There's lots of fiberglass on the road from the 80s still. Fiberglass poses its own set of problems but there's always a workaround.

Hey, I’ve seen this post a couple times and I have to wonder why it would fall apart? These vehicles that we get typically have 100K or 200K on them by the time we turn them into domiciles/palaces/art, so why would it decide when it finally has been put to pasture and gets to live out it’s days being doted over by some crazy person would it decide to fall apart???
