Won't go over all the details, but State Farm will full cover me during the build for $891 for 6 months. Liability would run $550 for the same period. I have a clean driving record, never had a claim, have other policies with SF and I'm 65. How are you getting coverage for $43 a month. Give me your agent contact, i'll buy through him.

We were having a hard time getting insurance after becoming nomadic South Dakota residents. Yesterday Progressive finally okayed us for a commercial for personal use, liability only, policy on the bus and full coverage on our truck. The bus is $300 a year, the truck is $400 a year.

We're still waiting to hear back from Kelly at Allstate, we called her last week after getting turned down by everyone else. We haven't heard back from her yet, but if she can get us better than just liability on the bus we'll probably switch over.

Just curious......is the 'nomadic' rate higher or lower than it was? I might be taking the South Dakota residency route in a few years.

It's about $140 cheaper for the year, but we switched from Chicago to Sioux Falls SD so I think that's what accounts for the difference in rates. The residency switch, itself, was a piece of cake. The insurance part was more difficult and pretty stressful. Insurance for the car is waayyyy cheaper though.

I'm sure you're right about that.

Thanks for the info!
