Painting my skoolie
Hey guys im gettig ready to paint my bus soon and was wondering what u folks think. I have a budget of 400 dollars for paint since most of my money is going for the interior and solar power. I was told that getting a good exterior paint and rolling it on would be better than spraying it was rattle cans. I asked a few local body shops and they are way over my budget just for a base coat and with me prepping it. I dont own a spray gun so im sort of lost for ideas. Id hate to paint it and have it look to much like crap or have to redo it a year later. Any advice on this would be great.

Tobiasrides used oil based exterior paint, I've stopped by & seen it & it looks really good, I'm thinking I'm going to go that route, he also has a photo album on the board.

Use oil based primer/paint. Many suggest tractor/heavy equipment paint. Rustoleum often get recommended a lot too. Rolling works fine. A Wagner Power Painter is an economical alternative, with a nicer finish. Most paints will require a bit of thinning to spray.
Good luck!

No no no! That's not how we roll!!!
We want before, during, and after pics!
YouTube videos are icing on the cake!
After you post enough pictures and YouTube videos... The admins here will give you the password to the hidden section of the discussion board... But, the number of pics & vids is quite high, so it's best to be an over achiever in this case

If you don't want to use rollers you could check a rental company. They probably will have sprayers small large industrial. Don't know the price tho. Just a thought

Well i finally got my bus painted. I used an out door paint for metal. Its dutch boy. I think it turned out good for the money. I purchased 4 gallons but only used 2. And thats after 2 coats of paint. I posted the pics in my album. I also purchased 4 new drive tires at 255.00 a piece. And mounting was done free from a friend.
