Pedal position question

I looked at a 1995 Thomas flat-front front-engine bus today and I was a little disappointed at the position of the foot pedals. I understand that the general design of this bus precludes a car-like foot position, but do all buses of this design have the foot pedals laid out so you are basically pressing straight down onto the floor? It's quite a change to go from driving a typical passenger car to sitting with my feet placed so squarely on the floor in front of me.

If they're not all the same, what bus design or manufacturer has a more conventional pedal setup?

Re: Pedal position question
