pine plank ceiling- how to attach?

So I'm 70% through my conversion and I will post lots of pics and topics when I finish, however I am stuck for the 2nd or 3rd time with finding good fasteners

So this time, I need to attach pine planks I had milled at 3/8" think to the ribs of the ceiling. I have "dead wood" in between most of the ribs 2x4 and 2x6 scraps which will help obviously when I'm in that location,... however 90% of the planks will be attached to the ribs with liquid nails and whatever good fastener I can find that will work.

#1- 3/8" wood planks to steel. however I want a small furniture type head on the screws so that I can limit the visual of tons of wood filler
#2- self tapping

any experience here? I've seen lots of photos on google of plank ceilings, I'm hoping someone else can shed some light on this.

I know McMaster Carr and Grangier may have something, but you know what thumbing through there catalogs can be like...
Thanks in Advance,

Yup, I used similar in some spots. I was also able to use some existing bolt holes from the roof ribs as my bus did not use rivets. Just measured for the location of the bolt hole and bought longer bolts and bolted the wood planks right up. I didn't get fancy and countersink the bolts, but for a clean look, that would be the way to go...

You could always go the other way and use a shiny connector, even make some kind of pattern on the ceiling.

is tongue and groove flooring the best a clean, seamless look for this application? I read on another thread that they used tongue and groove. Wondering about that versus just planks of wood, like a cedar. I am worried that I won't be able to get it to look clean through the curved portion of the roof.

It seems like tongue and groove would blend nicely around corners. Not much different than butting planks together to cover a corner, but the tongue seems like it would make a tighter fit than planks even if it wasn't fully inserted into the groove.

Planks vs tng

I'm avoiding using TnG for my ceiling. I think not getting it all the way grooved in the tight corners is really likely, and would look terrible. Also I had a bunch of pi e planks milled to o L 5/8 think which saves me a tiny sliver of head room and the mill charged very little for this run. Like 50 bucks. So mine will be 3" by 5/8"

And I was able to order exactly what I needed from Granger in the end. It just had to come from China.
