PL Premium vs silicone for metal

Trying to figure out the best adhesive for sheet metal. This will be for the new steel going down on the floor supports.

There will be self tapping screws going through as well, but I want an adhesive to help with:

-moisture
-vibrations
-extra strength

The bottom will be covered in undercoating and the top will be primed and painted.

My concern is avoiding anything corrosive. I don't know if pl premium is and google searches haven't turned up anything. It's polyurethane based.

I know silicone can be corrosive because it is acid curing, but you can also get versions that are neutral curing. I don't know if they are as strong though. Only nuetral I found locally was silicone ii by ge.

What would you use?

I would use anything over silicone. Unless you go super expensive, silicone, in my experience, is crap. Doesn't seem to take paint well, doesn't last long, etc.

3M for contact adhesive 1300L is the number.

Realistically?

I think the PL is the winner. Look on the bottom of the tubes when you buy for date code- you absolutely want freshest as is easier to apply/ sticks better. applies better warm vs cold.

That does look great, though the expense is prohibitive. Local places have it for $65.99. And I'd probably need at least 2.

So that leaves us with a vote against silicone and a vote for pl premium

I'd just use the screws with this stuff-
Dynatron Auto Seam Sealer Grey Caulk, 550

$15 a tube at autozone. Bout to use some on my roof hatch delete panel with some rivets.

I sealed my front light blanks with structural polyurethane, from home Depot. It lists metal to metal, painted surfaces, concrete, and wood to any substrate. Teck screwed through a wide bead and cleaned up any major squeeze out.
Think it was about 8 a tube...
