Plywood subfloor?

Hi. Im going to look at a 1993 Bluebird tomorrow. Does anyone know whether these buses come with the plywood sub floor already in place? The seats are still in it and the owner is unsure. Thanks

The buses that I have seen usually have a plywood subfloor with rubber flooring on top. In my case, the plywood was wet and moldy in places (due to leaking windows and hatches), so I ended up ripping it out, patching the steel floor and putting new wood back down.

It just depends on who ordered the buses usually. Some have the wood some don't. Mine didn't and I'm glad.

Some states, like WA, have required plywood sub floors for more than a generation. Other states still do not require plywood sub floors.

If the bus saw service somewhere in the east the odds are greater that it doesn't have a plywood subfloor than having a plywood subfloor.

If the bus saw service somewhere in the west the odds are greater that it does have a plywood subfloor since it has been the basic spe'c for a long time.

Having said that, 1993 was a long time ago. At this point, unless you can get the original build sheet (which is very difficult if it is a Blue Bird) I would guess it most probably does not.

Same here, was expecting plywood, but it was just rubber mat on metal flooring...

You might be able to lift up a bit of the rubber somewhere or look around edges like at the back door and see plywood (or not).

Something to keep in mind is that if the bus does not have plywood subfloors in it, it is very very easy to add them after you pull up the nasty rubber flooring.
