Point Of Use Water Heaters

I want to do a high quality build but realize that the top brand quality and price is not always needed or cost effective. I see Bosch makes POU water heaters in different sizes from 2.5-7 gallons and pricing according to size. I checked my kitchen sink on full shower spray and it runs 1.5gl a minute, 1:45 to fill 2.5gl. When would you ever really need more than 2.5gl/minute of hot only? keeping in mind you seldom use straight hot water if it's set hot enough. Thoughts?

So
It depends on many factors
It’s based on max temperature rise
So it’s usually based on degrees above ambient.
So your water reservoir + x amount of degrees.
From what I’ve found, 20 years working with residential remodeling
Here’s proof (my user name .com)
www.berriz.com
The stated GPM is generally not accurate
For multiple reasons
1. These are based on house hold use cases. If I’m in a home I don’t care if I use extra gallonage waiting for the water in the line to clear out, so the water is hot.
If I were using a 1.5gpm head and wanted to use a sink simultaneously I would get a 6gpm system
I don’t know what others are recommending but i would recommend double whatever you plan on using in GPM if you want shore power like heating.
For example
In my I plan on using
1 rain head (1.5 GPM)
2 shower heads (1.5gpm)
2 sinks (1gpm)
I want them to be able to run simultaneously
I plan on installing an 11gpm system.

This is DEFINITELY excessive
But the point in trump to make is that the rating they give are based on perfect lab settings. Better to upsize your system. The price difference between sizes it’s negligible.

I'll just add that your numbers are based on water usage, not hot only water usage.
