Possible to replace engine with larger engine?

I had a difficult time getting my bus home from Texas to Pennsylvania. Is it possible to replace the engine of a 2000 Amtram International with a larger engine? Will it fit? It's a flatnose front engine with a boot cover.

Re: Possible to replace engine with larger engine?

All things are possible with the right skills and enough money. What do you mean by "trouble"? I'm going to assume you took the shortest route through the mountains and you had to drive really slow on the uphills. This is, from everything I have read here and my own limited time with my former bus, normal. Bansil wrote a good post about mountain driving with his bus La Tortuga, I will see about finding a link later.

You have a DT466e. You can plenty of power out that engine. It is electronic so it might cost more than a mechanical engine but still cheaper than another engine.
