Propane Tank Placement

Mounting the tank in the rt rear corner. Question is should I mount it nearest the frame rail. near the side for access, or centered between the outside and the frame rail.

I went closer to the skirt, but that's is because I'm using my battery box as a shield.

I eyeballed it and mounted it centered. There's only a couple inches leeway. My battery box is on the opposite corner of the bus. The RR was the only place this tank would fit.

Really just from spray from the front tire. I have a similar tank to marc01's tank, except it's the 12.2 gallon version.

Starboard, Port is on the left.

Yes, that's why I asked. Right and left are dependent on where you are facing. Port and starboard are dependent of bow and stern. I was just trying to figure out where you placed it. I have a tool box and generator where your tank is.

I use "driver's side" and "passenger side." Even works in Brittan.
Starboard? Port? tell me today, I forget tomorrow. But then I'm a mountain gnome, not a sea gnome.
Seems like centering the tank limits the remaining space. If you mount it either toward the frame or skirt, a bigger space is left open that could be used for something you haven't thought of yet...maybe won't think of for another 5 years. If you center it, you get two smaller spaces.

RR, Right Rear . Doesn't matter what direction you're facing, bow is front, stern is rear, left is port, right is starboard, Bow is fore, stern is aft, below is, well, below. And if you call my lines ropes once more I'm throwing you off the boat.
My girlfriends family in high school were boaters.
My port side is all under storage. The starboard side has the fuel tank, storage bay and exhaust behind the rear wheel. I relocated the exhaust and put the tank where the last 6' of exhaust used to be.

That's a good spot. At this point, I would have liked to have my tank on the rear driver's area. Would have made for shorter runs but I had read somewhere that some ferries won't allow you aboard if your tank isn't between wheel wells. Not sure if this is true and not sure how many ferries I'll take the bus on....

I took the ferry to Bainbridge Island in Seattle. They only asked for two things- $80 please.

, and keep it as close to that wall as you can. They had me so close I couldn't open the door. Had to go out the back.

I'll hang the tank tomorrow as we are expecting a warm afternoon, I'll post a pic then. Here's where it's going

Since posting, I did take the bus on a ferry. From Bolivar Penin3to Galveston TX. No one asked me for anything except to wait inline until the ferry opened tondrive on.
