question for the experienced?

yall know or have read that i have the 8.2 na that runs like a sewing machine and yadad yada mess?
FOR THE OLDER SKOOL. I think i have found a donor for a few thing out of a 73 GMC astro tractortrailer? Who has dealt with driven a 9 speed eaton transmission
single stick?
dont know gear ratio of the rear yet but i have dayton spoke 9r20 and it is on 24.5 daytons. i was only trying to go to 22 but even better if i can get to 24.
trying to research spring perches for the rear but am assuming if the tranny is mated to an 8.2 then it will fit mine?
i know if i do this to PM everything while i have it apart.
who has an opinion on the old eaton 9 speen single stick ?
who has something to say about the rear end tire size change?
will the dayton spoke 24.5 rims fit where my dayton spoke 20" inch rims are? Hate to loose my 6.50 rear gears but if the rims will interchange and i can do a nine speed stick tranny then my 545 is good by'
ALRIGHT LET ME HAVE IT? thoughts opinions and all.

The Eaton 9 speed is a good tranny. It should be a dual range, lo-hi, shift pattern. The series will determine what the shift pattern is. I have a 9 over in my truck and I like it. As for the swap, if both are 8.2's you should have everything you need to do the swap.

The tires are a different story. The 24.5 Dayton will not fit on a 20" Dayton hub. A 22.5 is a tubeless 20" and will interchange. A 24.5 is a tubeless 22" and will fit on a 22" hub. Without changing the hub the 24.5 will not work.

If you had Budd wheels they would interchange.
