Question regarding floor and windows (basic)

Hello all.

Got a 1985 International with Carpenter body, 9 liter, with the 545.

Bought it last weekend and been working on it a little each day. All the seats are out and the rubber floor and trim has been removed. Read where some people had plywood or wood under that but mine is straight metal. My idea is to wire brush the floor to get most of the surface gunk off than coat, rivet the seat bolt holes up then coat again. Should I go with the Por-15 or will plain old rustoleum paint do? Read some great things about the POR-15, used it for my little brothers 65 mustang rebuild, but only had to buy two of the little jars, and at $130+ a gallon, just wanted to see if a couple of heavy coats of rustoleum would do the job? Any opinions or ideas? Will be covering with insulation, moisture barrier, then either wood or carpet/tile.

Also, going to be tinting the windows this next month, but wanted to see where I could get the weatherstripping to replace around them all. Took one apart last night to see how difficult it was and was really surprised to see the ease at which it came apart. So any info on ordering that? Any advice in dealing witht eh windows? What about powder coating the frames? Anybody have luck with that or should I just spray them?

All in all, really happy with my purchase. Except for a little body work she seems to be in great shape. Going through the mechanical side of the house in the next two weeks, grease, filters, brakes. Weather wouldn't cooperate with me during this week and kinda hard to be crawling around under a bus with the 16 month old there, not that she wouldn't mind getting a little dirty and greasy, but the wife wouldn't enjoy it, therefore, neither would I...

Parts of my floor were galvanized (those were the parts with rust, go figure) while the rest was just painted steel. I just wire wheeled the rust off, cleaned with TSP, and then rolled on THICK coats of oil based tractor primer. It was really amazing paint that stuck well, got a good coat on, and seems to be holding up. That's the route I might suggest. You're right that POR-15 is amazing stuff but it sure does cost some money.

My floor is straight metal too. No wood. But I am leaving the rubber on the floor and putting down some sub flooring. I would use some rustoleum or tractor paint like the previous reply suggested. Also, instead of putting rivets in the seat holes, use some silicone sealant. It's cheap and should fill all the holes. I tinted my windows too. I used the tint from Wal-Mart and it worked great. I took each window apart, cleaned really well and then tinted it while it was just a pane of glass. I let it dry for a couple hours before I put it back together. The seals around my windows were fine so I reused them.

Another good point. I wish I had kept some of my seat cushions. I've thought of several uses for them ever since I threw them out.

So I think I am going to go with the Rustoleum over the POR-15 just basically for finance...

Anybody got any advice on where to find the new weatherstripping for the windows? Looked around a bit but could not really find anything. Going to run up to the local Bus Barn on Monday and ask, hopefully they'll appreciate me and my box of Krispy Kremes enough to help out.

Also, how much weight can I play around with? Wife wants to put in an old cast iron tub I've picked up along the way, a 1925 Crane, beautiful, but I'm wanting to stick with the old shower route, but hey, gotta keep em happy, after all, she let me park it in the back yard and actually is out there grinding it out with me.

So just use some caulk instead of rivets, didn't think about that, was tossing around the idea of some Bondo, but figured the rivets would be faster.
