Range Hoods

So after months of planning and building, we r finally starting the kitchen and i just realized, i had never added the range hood to all my designs and calculations, and honestly, cant find a clever way to incorporate it into my vision. So question is what is a easy, low profile solution to this? are there folding hoods, where i can pull it out and use it when i need it, are there calapseable(i know thts not how u spell it) ones, do the small ones work efficiently enough to bother? I just dont want a big ol' modern stainless steel hood in my bohemian love bus, and if i must have one i dont want it taking over too much.

i had the same dilemma. i really am no fan of putting holes in the roof if i don't have to.
my bus has lots of power (generator electricity) and i solved the hood issue with a Jenair down draft stove. it has a suction inlet on the cooktop and pulls smoke and grease down into the fan and out the bottom of the bus.

if you have the power to run a squirrel cage fan you could sure mock up something similar.

In rv's sometimes a microwave / range hood combination is used and vents through the wall.

What worked well for me was an "over the range" convection microwave.

Microwave oven, convection oven and range hood all in one.

I don't know if this would fit your design but I can tell you that it worked out to be very practical for us.

I can't remember who, but I saw in one of the builds an array of computer fans that folds down and exhausts through the open window behind the cook top.

do a google images search for "welding fumes extractor"
something like one of those might also fit your "décor".
there are DIY versions too for cheap.
