Remove leaf springs to softon ride

So the busses we buy and convert to RV'S are desighned to handle say an 84 passanger bus xthe whight of 200 person = 16,000lbs. well the bus could handle double that. None of us really would ever load are busses that much. These busses ride like crap empty, Without doing huge suspension modifications like air bags etc and 1000. + later or more. Has anyone just removed some leaf springs to softon the ride of thier bus. If so how many did you remove? My bus is just so hard on the bumps I have to white knuckle the wheel.

Re: Remove leaf springs to softon ride

I dont have a bus yet, but i am looking at one, where the current owner has removed some springs and dropped the bus 8" to soften the ride. The bus is currently empty and even on the dirt road to his house the bus seemed to ride pretty smooth. Im going in for a second look this week. Ill let you know how many springs he removed.

Re: Remove leaf springs to softon ride

Well I wanted a skoolie for the ability to carry the whight. It rides ok..kinda like a bus...Rv's are just so smooth they have a float feel. I was only wondering if this could be done on a skoolie or maybe a bus is just a bus and it's gona ride a little ruff
