Remove markers / flashers to paint roof?

Getting ready to sand, seal, and tropicool my roof. The markers and flasher hoods will need a coat of black paint. should I just remove them and reinstall after I apply roof paint, or leave on and tape around? If i remove, what is best way to seal on reinstall?

Thanks
dave

I removed my flashers totally and scabbed over, but changed all market lights and turn signals to leds. But this was before I painted the roof so I just masked all the flashers and marker lights prior to tropicool painting. If you are keeping flashers and they don’t leak I recommend not removing them as I had a HELL of a time removing all of mine, although my bus is a 1992.

I've removed my front and rear uppers and skinned them with sheet metal from the inside. I'll be removing all the side lights and replacing them and adding some extras. Mine all came.out fairly easily so far.
