Replacement screws for bus windows?

I'm reinstalling all of the windows on my bus after removing them and cleaning them. Unfortunately I have lost some of the retaining screws and I can't find any matching replacement screws at Lowe's (I bought some that looked like an exact match as far as diameter and thread pitch but they won't go in more than 1/8"). Does anybody know what type of screws these are and where I can get replacements? These are the screws with the fat rounded washers that screw into the hat channels (there are two of these screws between each pair of windows on my bus).

This is kind of insane. I called a local parts company to order these screws and I ordered a box of 50 and the screws are 50 cents each so $25 total. I also wanted to order some of the rounded washers that go with them and I ordered 25 of them - only to find out that his system was charging $22 per washer, giving me a total bill of over $500 (I cancelled the washers, of course). Are these washers made out of platinum or something?

I got the specs, at least - these are #14 screws 1" long.

They really are. Unless you want a bucket of 5000 nails.
At Ace you can dig around and find exactly what you need. And get as many or as few as you need.

Anyone here remember Eagle Hardware?

They were AWESOME! Lots of great people and the best hardware selection I have ever seen.

I converted my first bus right next door to one. It was so great having such a great resource so close.

Then Lowe's bought them out....

Eagle was my favorite - I traveled across the border, 2 1/2 hour drive each way, in large part to go to Eagle Hardware - I could buy plywood, made to Canadian specs ( all plywood in Canada has to be made with waterproof glue )at Eagle's for less than it cost me to buy it at the mill it was made at, 25 miles from where I live - cabinets, counter tops, lino, carpeting, plumbing, were all cheaper than I could find anywhere else - I usually bought enough that the savings paid for the trip, restaurant food, and motel, and I was still ahead of the game - I'd come home with my one ton flat deck piled higher than the stake sides on the truck - at the time I was remodeling 3 houses, and doing some insurance jobs that had fire and/or water damage - at that time the Canadian $ was hanging around par with the US$ and many places accepted it at par - forget any big savings now with the Canadian $ worth $0.75 of the USD

Mildly amusing: I went to a local True Value hardware store to find these screws, showed the guy my screw and he handed me a box of screws with the same diameter but very different thread pitch. I explained why those weren't going to work and he actually said "son, I've been doing this for 50 years, they'll work". I bought the box mainly because it was only $2 and I didn't want to embarrass the guy. Sure enough, they didn't ******* work.

it seems Vehicle screws are always some type of custom.. I suppose they meet some other standardthen hardware store screws.. I always hate having to go to fastenal or grainger for something I cant make work with ACE or Zettler hardware stuff..

I had a member here ask me for my screws and washers so I saved them and put them in a bag.

I PM'd the member repeatedly with no reply. I shuffled that bag around for over a year. I finally threw it away in July.......

Timing sucks....
