Retitling

When I got back to Montana from the wilds of Illinois, obviously, I had to register Brunhilde with MVD (DMV to everyone else). Because nothing had been done to the old girl, it was registered as a bus with appropriately high rates.

Now that the interior is bereft of all but one seat and flooring in place, it is no longer a bus. From what I am able to glean from the Montana MVD page, in order to register it as an RV, it must no longer be able to be used as a passenger bus.

Is there anything else I might have to do to permanently convince the PTB that Brunhilde is no longer a bus?

You probably seen this already, but just in case...

(c) providing at least four of the following types of facilities:
(i) cooking, refrigeration, or icebox;
(ii) self-contained toilet;
(iii) heating or air conditioning, or both;
(iv) potable water supply, including a faucet and sink; or
(v) separate 110-volt or 125-volt electrical power supply or a liquefied petroleum gas supply, or both.

It differs state by state. In Colorado we did not need to fulfill all of the requirements listed above to get it licensed as an RV. Check your state regulations.

AZ is MVD too. Easy retitle here. I had temp. stuff (fridge and cabinet with a camp stove on top) strapped to the wall and 2 holes in the floor for drains, they loved it.

Seems like I went through this in Montana about twenty years ago. I havent registered in many years but I had the sheriffs come out and inspect the stove the sink and the ice box and away we went titled as an rv.not much has changed here( the same woman is still at the MVD office 20 years later) I have to re register soon so I hope there is no Imperial Entanglement when I get my insurance
