I see we have some of the same background, 18 years as a NASCAR short track owner/driver/crew. 3 years fabbing LSR cars and trucks having set world records with every one at every event.
Back on topic. If ever you wanted a bus to do an easy roof raise on, this International AmTran is the one. Look at the front and you will see all square lines of uninterrupted rivits. Raising this roof would be a piece of cake. I'm cash poor after buying my FE, but I have $11K coming in the next week or less. If this is still available I might just have to check it out for my second build.

Yep that Cincinnati bus is a high headroom model too. Might not even need a roof raise.

Awesome! It sounds like you may bring the knowledge/skills to the project that I am lacking.

I hate when they list their item on CL, include contact info , but don't reply to any questions asked. Messaged them yesterday, no reply yet.

Yep I hate dealing with Craigslist most of the time for that very reason.

Although I as a personal opinion(to each his own) don't care for the entire roof lift look.I do think though that it would be easier to do than the airfoil look partial roof raise that I am starting next week (weather permitting). Lifting it 12" may not be as bizarre looking to me as others. As I have said before I have done others, all partials and hope to document nosecone fabrication better than others have in the past as it is the most difficult portion of the lift.

I do agree that an overly tall "forehead" can look unwieldy. On a more modest raise I prefer the look of the full roof raise.
I think Nat_ster had a good idea of a full roof raise and making the windshield taller. We didn't get to see his finished though. Has anyone here kept in touch with him?

No, but I also want to find a larger windshield for my type A during my raise. I'm not sure where to start.

If the windshield is flat, new custom sizes can usually be made by windshield specialists.

It's not. You can see my avatar picture. It's going to be challenging to find a larger one. Do you guys know any other builds where a roof raise was done on a type A ?
I'm doing it because I need to make up for storage and visibility while still parking in a regular parking spot.
Not trying to take over this thread or anything but why start a new one for the same topic right?
