Question Roof removal and exchange.

I am a new wannabe School bus converter. I have noticed that the skoolie roofs are arched. This arch structure seems to hinder cabinet size. A flat roof would be a more functional option for the bus interior. Has anyone ever replaced a Skoolie roof? Opinions?

If you are concerned about the added difficulty of a curved roof. I would recommend just getting a coach bus or Greyhound. It will be a lot of work to make a flat roof on a school bus.

If you had to go with a Schoolie, you could raise the roof then square it off on the inside eliminating the arch of the roof. You would end up with some dead space though.

Might want to look into transit buses, they're high headroom, flat-roof, and have nicer windows to boot. Lots of them available at public auctions too.

Hinder...???
If your making custom cabinets then there is no problem at all. The front of the cabinets would be taller and the back shorter with the top rounded to match your arch curvature.

BTW, everything is custom on a skoolie!
