So I have been in the planning phase of the project and the wife is coming around...
Anyway looking at changing out the windows I.e. Skinning over the old holes changing some framing and fitting some larger windows in. When I look for regular window suppliers I see in excess of $500 quotes per window. At that price the wheels will fall of the project pretty quick. But I am seeing Windows on eBay much cheaper without trim rings. How important is the trim ring and what are the alternatives. Any good suppliers that anyone can recommend ?
The inner trim ring clamps the window to the body. Shouldn't be too hard to cobble something up to replace the ring. You could also fasten them from the outside by drilling through the outer flange and screwing into the body. Paint the screw heads black and it should look fine.
I had to cover some of my beat up trim rings and made trim panels out of 1/4" ply and some naugahyde.
