RV Windows without rings

Hi fellow skoolies--

I see lots of RV windows for sale on ebay that do not come with Rings.

I've never been around a disassembled RV window, so I don't know if I can use these windows or not. Right now I have blank plywood panels covering my Skoolie window holes.

Can I use/install an RV window w/o a ring?
Anyone have a detailed photo of a naked RV window?

Thanks in advance
Sean in Flagstaff, AZ

With most of the RV windows that I've seen screws go throught the inner ring and all the way through to the outer flange and when tightened squeeze the wall between the two flanges, holding the window in place.

I'd think that you'd have to find another way to attach the window if there was no inner ring with it. Something like screwing the outer flange to the wall or something. The inner ring also is part of a sort of a rain gutter kind of thing that catches condensation on the inside of the window and channels it towards the drain holes in the bottom of the frame as well (at least on mine it's that way). Think that you might have water problems without that side of the channel being there ... but maybe I'm all wet here ....

Crazy solution

I did a crazy thing with my window. I got it for $10 with no ring. I drilled holes all the way around the outside and mounted it to the side of the bus with screws. I used RV window putty to seal it. It doesn't leak and doesn't look bad because I painted over the frame and screws.
