We are taking our bus on a trip to Utah from Colorado in the next couple weeks and I was wondering if they had certain laws on skoolies colors. We have yet to paint our bus from the original yellow. Just don't want any more hassle already having Colorado plates. Thanks
I've been driving my yellow school bus around for 6 months in Utah, even got pulled over for speeding, and haven't heard a word about the color- so I think you're fine with yellow in Utah~
Anyone know about California, Nevada and Arizona?
California, IIRC, requires buses not being used to transport students to have the NSBCY painted over. New Jersey is the same way. Usually the safest bet is to repaint the bus something other than School Bus Yellow

Well thank you for noticing, Captain Obvious Captain Obvious on deviantArt
The only trouble we had was in Minnesota where a vehicle inspector stopped as we were in a rest area but we just kept going through. The bus is now primed white for our trip back west so we shouldn't have any problems.

The only speed limit I have to worry about is 35 or less and the only reason I had to change from yellow before I was ready was because of a grumpy neighbor and county land use trying to shut him up so I gave in and painted primer grey. Otherwise no problems in NC.
I know MA requires no "school bus yellow". But I would imagine that as long as you are in compliance with the regulations of whichever state you are registered in, and the color of the bus matches the color listed on the registration, then you should be good to go.
