I think they are the German watch of guns, but they had some problems too. I don't know if they got too popular too fast and couldn't keep up with the quality or what.

Could be, they are still better than H&K. Or it could be the flood of police buy back weapons hitting the open market. While cops don't shoot their guns to much they also don't take care of them too well either.

And the polymer framed sigs... I am not going to say they are crap but they certainly are not a metal framed sig for sure.

If you ever get the chance to shoot a .357 sig do it, especially if that chance is in the evening. We called that one the fire breathing dragon for a reason, its muzzle flash was second only to the M38 Nagant.

My folks collect CZ guns I used to EDC a few different CZs the 52 is cool and fun to shoot but the .357 sig vs the 7.62x25TT is not even close. Fun fact Carlos the Jackel's favorite gun was a CZ52 with the PP machine gun ammo in it because it blasted thru the french and Interpols bulletproof vests.

Story time: I was at a gun show and there was a 52 for sale but they had those stupid zip ties thru everything with one hand I popped off the slide and was actuating the rollers and looking at the frame wear. Then the sales guy starts giving me crap about not disassembling guns (I won't buy a used gun without opening it up first). So with a deft movement I click it back together while looking him in the eyes and never once looking at what I am doing (all by feel alone) then hand it back to him and walked away never saying a thing. He looked a bit upset, impressed and annoyed all at the same time.

I also once got in an argument at a gun store when they had some of those Romanian AKs in that were a combination of new and used parts. Now I was in this shop buying a gun probably once a month during this time. They knew me, by name, they knew I was far more familiar with Russian small arms than anyone who came thru that store on a regular basis and most of the staff. I popped off the dust cover off and with it still in hand had the operating rod/ bolt carrier out. This maneuver took me maybe 2 seconds tops. He starts in about you can't disassemble new guns. four seconds later it was back together, at which point we start a heated debate if this gun is new or not. Sure it was in a box that came from the distributor but everything but the pistol grip, springs, bolt carrier (sometimes they had the fully auto bolt carrier) and receiver was Romanian surplus. Needless to say I never bought ANYTHING there again.

Not that either of those things has to do with secret compartments just hadn't thought about 52s in years.

Try shooting an AR pistol with a 9 inch barrel. Even in broad daylight it will bother you eyes.

True words.

A gun is a thing, a tool, like a bus. Just buying one won't do a thing for you, and just jumping in without knowing what your are doing can be dangerous. You need to learn the ins and outs, learn what it will and won't do. Above all, get training of the safe use and handling, and the legal rights and the obligations that come with firearm ownership.

Enough of that.

Gun Porn!

A gun is a tool as mentioned or to some a hobby. Some people like to shoot. Some people have guns for hunting. You wouldn't drive a nail with a muffin just like you wouldn't cut a board with a butter knife. All this gun talk is making me hungry.

You have lots of tools for work and some of them get used maybe once or twice a year. Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

Did I mention that I'm hungry?

Yeah thats about the long and short of it. What else would I really care to hide, that can be talked about here

And false safety is the only kind of safety there is... aside from asceticism.

I want to be a nomad. I want to roam. There is a damn good chance you will find me in all of those places. I just want a place where I can put things that no body needs to know I have that I don't want to just tuck into the back of the closet. Emergency supplies that I won't share if and when SHTF.

I'll grant that firearms don't guarantee safety, but the deterrent factor that the people in a given car/house/RV MAY be armed tends to make everyone safer. I sleep better knowing I have the ability to defend myself against encroaching humans, bears, coyotes and rabid raccoons.

I consider my stuff to be sporting goods as opposed to defensive; I have a carry permit but rarely actually walk around armed, but in the back of my mind I know that even my old date-correct Garand hanging on the wall as decoration may well save my life some day.

Pretty much my feelings on the subject.

All your doing is supplying the criminal with a weapon.

That weapon will be used on you, your loved ones, and everyone around you.

The issue is, 99% of people can't pull the trigger. From there the attacker takes the weapon.

If you all carried bear spray, or a taser, you would all be far safer. No more trigger fear of killing someone. Therefore the trigger gets pulled and the intruder gets stopped.

I have seen this over and over again in real life. I can tell right away when someone sticks a gun in my face by the look in their eyes if they can pull the trigger of not. 99% on this continent simply can't.

That's why guns are a false feeling of safety.

Who ever said I can't have them?

Nothing stopping me from owning any weapon I want.

I grew up using them everyday. Spent 4.5 years serving my county using them every day. Fully licensed now, just no interest in giving intruders weapons.

If I ever need a gun, there are plenty of idiots that bring one to the location.

A few members here need to spend some time over seas like I have. You would get a big eye opener on many things in life. You would come back a better, more understanding person.

Actually I am jealous of our friends up North. Properly licensed, they have the availability of many firearms I would like in my collection that you just can't find here in the states unless it is greatly inflated in price.
