six or seven row?

hi folks,
i´m looking for a school bus but don´t know the right size. i think for south-european roads 7 row is the max. and maybe 6 row is to short for my conversion. for my first floorplan i need the distance between the backdoor and the back of the driver seat of a 6 and 7 row skoolie. here in germany, skoolies are very rare . . .and i don´t want to buy the wrong bus (export and fly is expencive enough)

If six rows is too small for your floor plan... and if seven rows is the max you can drive there.... then it seems to me that you only have one choice! A seven row bus!

How much does it cost to ship a bus from the US to Europe?

i cant understand why anybody would want to import a gas guzzler like that to Europe. (may be that is the reason why they are rare) You will not be able to afford to drive that thing to southern europe unless you spend an other few thousand euros and put a fuel efficient engine in to it.
Other then that, go for the 7 row seater.

european rvs look like iceboxes on wheels, no soul



and european rvs with soul are very small and dark inside and often to old 1950 to 1960 (old technic and rare parts)



and ray, the shipping cost is round about 3500 bucks with bus and tax round about 8000 dollars. if i buy a six row bus here in germany i must pay 15500 dollar, i think for me this is a good reason to import.
and swinada, the gas guzzler like the 1977 ihc is a dream of me. i like the old skool look, in the reality it must be an ihc or ford with diesel engine, so i can take veggie oil
if anybody of you ride a 8 or 11 row, please give me the distance between driver seat and the end of the seven row window . . .

Well what is wrong with driving an old Deutz? I personaly would prefer an old Saurer, but hard to find in Canada (impossible)
This would make the perfect conversion for Canada
of course this is only a model but it does look good.

If you import a bus from the americas get one with the 5.9 L cummins that should help the mileage a little.

My 1982 Thomas measures:

A to B = 172.25 inches / 437.515 centimeters

A to C = 201.25 inches / 511.175 centimeters

Please note that these measurements are center to center on the window posts.

this is a big help for my virtuell floorplan without the real bus (think you mean ft and not cm), but latest in juli i fly to usa and buy a strong bus, maybe in the near of boston, so i have to drive 400 miles to the shipping in new york with a short stop in bethel (woodstock) and hope i get more than a tail lamp warranty

Yes, it's a great and beautiful place to visit. I say visit because I'm not a "beach person". I was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point (Cheerless Pit) for 11 years, but was never quite able to make the "adjustment" to coastal living. I always had to make an annual pilgrimage to the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall to see the leaves change color all over the mountains. (I'm a mountain man from PA, the coastal pines stay green, heh, heh.)
