Skoolie Plumbing

Someone contacted me a while back asking for a sort of shopping list for plumbing stuff, along with advice. I put together this list and thought I'd post it here. Of course, this is just MY list from MY perspectives. Composting toilet folks will obviously need to mod this. But it's a start:

=> This is an updated list with a 50-gallon black tank (decent deal on Amazon) and 110 electric water heater, 4-gallon from Bosch, which I'm thinking would be pretty good ... but shopping around would make sense:

=> Basic principles to consider before you outfit your skokie plumbing system:

=> what’s your intended use for the system, and for how many people or how long? how will your tanks and build the weight distribution/balance of your bus? have you planned for (in terms of structural strength and strapping) the weight and potential momentum of full water tanks? what’s actually do-able in your space in terms of running lines, vents, and installing systems? how will the waste lines be vented? if you plan to heat water, what will that system look like and how will it be powered and vented (if needed)? how will you deal with potential freezing, and does your system design attempt to mitigate this problem? (antifreeze inlet? drains?) how important is potable water to you? taking showers? flushing toilets? washing dishes? will you be able to access the system for future repair? will your water storage tanks use gravity to aid your pump? do you need to be able to know, via a sensor, your waste and water tank levels? do you want outside water and/or a shower? will you be able to dump tanks via standard RV lines? dump from one or two sides of the bus? flush black tank with gray water? does your plan take into account the slope of your waste lines (1/4” per 1’ is ideal) and avoid low spots in your water lines?
