Sources for fuel tanks.

Anyone know any good places to buy steel or aluminum fuel tanks? I've come across Cleveland Tank, but $1500 ($934 tank, $530 mounting kit) for a 100 gallon steel tank with mounting bracket seems a bit on the high side. Perhaps I am wrong? Thanks!

You may have to monitor listings for a while, but Ebay is a good source. I found both my 44 gallon poly gray water tank (a perfect fit for a tight spot) and my aluminum fuel tank (also 44g off a boat) there for a fraction of what I expected to pay. That said...I did do regular searches for 2 or 3 months to get what I wanted.

Good luck with the hunt.

Craigslist. I've listed some before but I always see them.

any junkyard with a school bus....i looked at one in my local scrap yard and posted a thread here thinking about converting it to a waste tank.... but ended up going with poly waste tanks. i think they wanted $50 for the tank and mounting cage.

i also see a lot of fuel tanks at equipment auctions.

good luck

here is my thread with the tank i was looking at...

Look around at scrap yards that specialize in heavy trucks. Don't pay a grand for a tank.
