My 15+ year old (made in the US) Milwaukee corded impact can handle the lugs on mine and probably twist them off if not careful. You also have to be careful not to let it break your wrist. Have not found anything on this 70 year old bus it couldn't handle yet.

I should probably try my electric impact before I go spending money on tools I don't need. Not holding my breath though. Budd wheels torque to what, 550ftlbs?

Pretty sure it's still more than my Milwaukee electric 1/2" is good for. Brand new, they're rated for 3600inlbs (300ftlbs)...

Which means you need 550-800 to remove them.

Honestly... Torque wrenches, electric/air wrenches... It's as though you're planning on changing multiple tyres daily in pit stop times! Seriously, a T-bar, socket and a piece of scaffolding tube are all you need! Foir goodness sake, the tyres are rated for 500,000 miles!

Ah, true they may be rated for 500k miles but there is *always* the possibility of a FOD* related blowout. Although BC didn't say it here on how his tire blew, it does behoove us to be prepared for when we don't have cell service, and may need to change out a tire in Great Outbeyond

*FOD- Foreign Object Damage. Usually what turns multi-million dollar jet engines into junk, or worse

I'm not so worried about tyre damage as by other drivers. The suicidal things they do in front of a 13 ton missile have to be seen to be believed. I'm not going to riisk turning my bus over to avoid hitting them!
