Stabalizer location problem

Stabalizer placement.

Its time to stabalize this beast so folks inside the bus dont lose it because folks on top of the bus are getting carried away.

I have the front figured out(ends of c-channel behind bumper) The rear is another issue. In the picture below the black line represents one of the ribs that makes these buses like tanks. The blue and red lines are my crude drawing of a stabalizer jack or outrigger. The idea is to attach it via an 8" piece of flat strap bolting it(2x) thru the rib. This same rib is one of the bolted supports for the deck above thus directly connecting the deck to the ground.

This is not meant to lift....stabalize only. Other than being at the end of the rib with little sheet metal(relatively speaking) providing lateral reinforcement is there any reason this should not work. I could possibly reinforce the rib to the frame but it would encroach on future holding tank plans. There is really no good alternative to this placement because of all the other "enhancements" welded to this "enormous apparatus"

Re: Stabalizer location problem

That is an idea I will look at...there are some stoppers to it but work arounds may be available as well. what are your thoughts on the stability of the ribs.

Re: Stabalizer location problem

If all you are doing is stabilizing (not leveling)... how about truck camper jacks.
