Sunsetter House Awning on the Bus
Recently, we were invited by a couple to check out their sunsetter awning. It was on their house when they moved in and they don't want it. They are either going to give it away or sell it really cheap. I am not sure which yet. But... I want to make sure that it will work on the bus properly before picking it up. The sunsetter awnings are not made for RV applications. I have read in several instances where they have advised not to do it (liability?). My question is... what limits a home awning from being used on a Skoolie? I have searched Google, the Skoolie forum, etc., but have yet to find any conclusive advice on whether or not it can be done. Most people seem to say that it doesnt have a lock that can cause it from unfurling while driving. Couldn't we just fabricate a lock? I know there is one more board member using it successfully on his shuttle bus conversion.
Any tips, or advice? More specifically, any reason NOT to do it?
