Those sure are nice, but it's suck to go through the windshield of a bus with that seat strapped-on. Are you sure those boat pedestals are vehicle-crash tested? Manufacturer doesn't mention.

Never said they were crash tested. I doubt boats have to meet DOT standards. And the way mine is attached, if it breaks loose, I will probably already be dead anyway.

That was my thought as well.
If the seat breaks I have other problems!

Thanks Tango, I did not even know that they made those. Between something similar to yours and air suspension like Alan, my little mind is working overtime.
We (she) really wants swivel seats

swivel seats continue...

In my quest for a 3rd 'front' row seat (views!) I wanted one that folds flat. I thought removable but they are so heavy...

I bought a stow and go 3rd row car seat that folds flat. Then looked for a swivel. Shocked at the prices for one for a car, the boat ones and other inexpensive ones a little too flimsy. For a base I just ordered a motorcycle scissor jack, looks like perfect size and its only 3 1/2 inches tall when down.

Ordered a swivel from Northern Tool, 100 bucks. Not car rated but the heavy dutiest one I see.

So the seat 125, swivel and base 165, $300. I might remove the screw on the jack and put in a air bag I ordered. As a newbie I am amazed at the seat travel up front on my air seat when we hit dips and bumps. Cant fathom any seat up front not having an air bag, but hey the middle seat is for my 10 yr, old.

In short, a lot of reading and searching and now cobbling something together, Should have bought a used air seat but if this really folds 'flat' well I will post photos and be happy! (My bus door is NOT upfront, so this is a nice hang area. My other front seats swivel to desk tables behind them).

SO MANY decisions in doing a bus, might as well be a house renovation!

Some of the links on this post were no longer active. I needed a flat swivel, no base and spent several hours looking. Obviously it needed to lock too. If you see any let me know. I just ordered one from Northern but I need 2. Wanna check theirs out for heavy duty-ness.

Did you end up getting the one from Northern? I'm assuming it was this one? https://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...QaApi7EALw_wcB

Did it work for your existing driver seat?

That one clearly states it is for slow moving vehicles and tractors, not for cars, trucks or suvs. I know our busses aren't fast, but I don't think that is what they mean.

By the way, the driver side and passenger side swivel 180 degrees and towards the center of the bus.

National makes a swivel for their seat that I was going to use.

And yeah, I’m wondering how much room. Then I think it’s made for stock applications so.....
