Tag axle on pusher?

When I finally get a bus to convert, I want it to be a flat nose pusher. I intend to put a trailer hitch on to tow with. To add stability and increased tongue weight capacity, would a tag axle be practical or even possible? If yes to both, would it be better behind or in front of the drive axle?

Motor coaches have a tag axle. I don't think it's worth the effort or the cost. Only my two cents.

I really don't think it necessary, unlike a motor coach, a school bus is basically a truck. Not sure what you are towing, but,
it would take a LOT of tongue weight to be too much. A properly set up and loaded trailer won't have all that much tongue weight.

Because from what I've seen, RVs are only rated at 5,000 towing capacity, although I'm sure there are a few greater than that. I've read others mentioning tongue weight being an issue, especially if there is a long overhang behind the rear wheels. I would mostly likely tow a boat, but I like to know what I'm getting into.

Motorhomes often have a very light frame at the back, and are toward or over their GVW rolling out of the factory. These are more limiting factors to their low tongue and low GVCW ratings.

A school bus has a truck frame from front to back, and is built to carry a substantial amount of weight. For instance, the f600 chassis my bus is based on would carry 15,000 lbs plus of grain as a farm truck.
