Tankless waterheaters

How much hot water and how how will it be considering it runs on D cell batteries? I looked at some on ebay for RVs that drew 14-16 amps. These were similar to what you have there.

That thing burns Propane or Natural Gas. The D-cells are just for the electronic controls.

someone here installed a propane household unit in their bus and liked it, don't remember who tho.

I have a bosch natural gas unit in the house and will never go back to a conventional water heater, it,s my irresponsable indulgence to take a loooooong hooot shower sometimes and not run out of hot water. I think it takes about1/4 gpm flow to fire it up, so it's really pretty efficient to use with a low flow showerhead, especially in conservation mode. on wet, off soap,on rinse, off dry

take a used ur leaky heater apart and cut it down, they rust out at the weld around the base because people don't drain the sediment out on a regular basis, why back the burner btu's down, they turn on and off with a thermostat mounted in the tank.

This was certainly on my list of things to try, but the more I think about it the more I think solar heat in the summer and using the wood burning stove in the winter would be a surer bet.

Well, nobody here has purchased the ez101 yet?
I emailed the manufacturer, and asked if it could be vented to the outside, because it appears that it cannot be connected to a vent pipe, as it is intended to work outdoors. Don't want to mount it outdoors!
It's been almost two weeks, and no reply. I suppose this guy doesn't care to answer questions.

We can't afford yet one of the nicer ones. Keep saving I guess!

Is the inline water heater the ones you can get at Home Depot. They go up to six gallons I believe. I don't know what inline means and was going to go and ask them that, and if you had to have it on all the time. I want to try and use a gallon or less for my showers. I don't mess about, I get clean and get out.

Some are (I've seen a couple that I think are 220V), though I don't know the amp draw. They come small...I saw one not much bigger than a wastebasket. Hot water took about three seconds.

My concerns would be the power draw and how well they would hold up to the constant vibration of a vehicle.

Soomeone on the Roadfood professionals forum (food vendors & restaurant owners) is using one in his mobile kitchen and loves it. It is used to heat potable water. Everything in a mobile kitchen has to pass a health inspection, both before ever selling 1 piece of food and at any time that an inspector feels like doing an inspection (with in reason... like you have to be open).

The "point-of-use" water heaters tend to be either 220 and big enough to handle a person taking a shower or 110 big enough to wash your hands in. An LP tankless water heater can be used in an RV. This was a hot topic for a while on the coach conversion sites several years back. I emailed the folks who make the Aquastar models to ask if they could be used in an RV even though they were not "approved" for use in an RV. Their response was yes several of the folks who worked for their company had them in their RV (including the owner/pres. & VP, engineers). At the time they told me about 5 or 6 of their management had done this and many of the factory workers as well. It seems that it costs a lot of $$ and testing to get the "approval" needed to sell their product to a very small group of consumers. It wasn't worth it. You need a power vent on the tankless. You can get "exterior" tankless models (seen them in Panama City Beach, FL when down there last). You might want to get the "solar" kind that will allow you to use "preheated" water as the water in the water hoses will get hot enough that they won't make the water heater kick on to bring the preheated water on up to required temperature.
