The Bed/ Sofa options

Saw this and got me thinking of a simple frame and it may work in many applications. SO......Any u guys try, seen, know a 2nd cousin with an opinion?

Not sure why u would get a survey...its a link to wayfair.com...... But for those that cannot get to link, the product is like a futon mattress, except the portion that supports back and top half of legs has actual springs and mechanical reinforcement. It is hinged and locks in numerous positions. Just wondering about its comfort level.

Hey, I never got to take the survey. I just got photos of a very thin futon.

Something like that would make a very good guest bed. It's pretty thin looking which almost guarantees that guests won't want to sleep on it for more than a night or two.

Personally I don't want someone sitting on my bed during the daytime. I know it's a space saver but who wants to make their bed from scratch every evening, then fold and put everything away again the next morning.

Im planning a shorty or shuttle. So its a bed OR a sofa bed. Cant fit both with a shower, toilet, kitchen, and storage areas......BUT its just me and a dog.

I plan on having some sort of couch in the "living " area. That would make a good option for extra bed on the couch. I will have 4 bunks in the rear and having a sleep/bed option for the couch up front.

I made my own out of steel pipe it opens it is a sofa/recliner with seat belts that will pull all the way out to make a full bed.
I will have to take better pics but if this one shows up the front right is the sofa recliner that slides out to the love seat on the left to make a full size bed in the front or just use the sofa recliner part as a bed if you are feeling lazy cause it leaves room for people to walk buy.
There is doors for the overhead cabinets but they were removed at the time for finishing.
I can give specific pics of how I did it if needed but it is mostly steel pipe ,1/4" flat bar and some welding.

You can get a very good Futon mattress. I know because we've been sleeping on ours for a year! If you get the $200 Futon you should only let your enemies sleep on it!

It's for the inlaws bed.

What brand are you using? I figured I would end up making my own folding mattresses for the custom size unit I would have to build.

Thats the point of this thread. I need to design/ buy/steal idea for a bed/ sofa that i dont MIND sleeping on daily. Any and all options on the table. Even considering no sofa, just full time bed........prefer the sofa bed option if i can make it comfy enough. So, bring the ideas!

While that mattress works for the combo it was designed for, comfort while sleeping was probably low on the list of requirements. I would not buy that as MY daily sleeper, but it would work for it's intended purpose as additional sleep space. That doesn't look as comfortable as a bed than a regular folding bed mattress that I have never found comfortable for more than 10 minutes.

I always liked the idea of using a murphy bed.

My thought for a long time was to do a dinette similar to what they had in old Pullman sleeper cars. The face-to-face bench seats would pull together in the middle to make one bed, and a small Murphy bed would fold down from the ceiling to make an upper bunk. They were set up to allow enough space down below that you could still sit on the benches while the upper bunk was set up.

In the below image, the murphy beds are behind the angled panels halfway up to the ceiling.

Lately, though, I've realized I won't really NEED sleeping for 7 in my housebus, so I'm scrapping the murphy bed. I'll still install hard points so I can put a hammock up somewhere, though.
