It is taller than many transit busses I have seen - has 3 steps up like most skoolies. I sent them an email to ask about the length and what kind of transmission it has. There are no storage bins on this but it is tall enough to install my own...I think I am in love! One thing I especially like is that if you are standing up, you can still see outside - you don't have to kneel down to see. That is the main reason why I would raise a roof in a skoolie. Would appreciate your comments on this kind of bus - what are the right terms to use to describe it...if it had a cummin 8.3l with an Allison 3060...and were a few years older (outside of smog regs)..and at least 37 (ideally 40) feet long it would be perfect

The only problems with the c7 is it is a parent bore motor so it can not be rebuilt in frame and had some issues so that it was considered less reliable than its predecessor the 3126e. The adept ape on YouTube has lots of Cat info.

The transmission will likely be either a b300 or b400 allison which is very similar to the md3060 but heavier duty. The gear ratio of the differential and if 6th gear is unlocked are important questions.

I would weigh in that the parent bore issue is by far not the main issue.

The parent bore issue actually isn’t a big deal in my understanding, what is a big deal is the emissions stuff and possibly the HEUI system.

I was just reading, on another forum, that CAT has come out with some "fixes" for the common HEUI issues.

Some upgraded internal parts and a HEUI oil filter.

I know there's an oil line upgrade that includes adding a filter to prevent that nightmare injector failure.
